Carmelo di Genaro
Carmelo Di Gennaro (Padua, 1964), is a journalist, musicologist, translator, and essayist. He worked more than fourteen years at RAI (1991-2005), where he produced and directed music, radio and television programs. Professional journalist since 1999, for eight years he was a music critic for the Sole-24ore newspaper, and a correspondent from Italy for the Scherzo magazine. He has collaborated in specialized music magazines, such as Musica-Realtà, Amadeus, Musica, Classic Voice. He currently collaborates with the Corriere della Sera newspaper. His books include Glenn Gould. L’immaginazione al pianoforte (1999) and La Scala nell’età di Verdi (2001); He has collaborated on the book Per Giacomo Manzoni (2002) and is responsible for the editing of Il teatro alla moda, by Benedetto Marcello (2006). From 2005 to 2010 he was attached to the Artistic Direction of the Teatro Real de Madrid, and until 2014 he was Director of the Italian Institute of Culture in Madrid. Currently, he is the General Director of the Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Madrid Foundation and artistic advisor to the «Stresa Festival» (Italy).
